According to Mercedes, new cars is still in testing and development phase. AMG experts pay special attention to aspects of the bodyshell rigidity, driving dynamics, the roof, and NVH (noise, vibration and hardness). Even though we expected the roadster version of Mercedes-Benz SLS AMG supercar to be revealed at the recent New York auto show, the German automaker took the decision to perform the world premiere of its flagship drop top model at the upcoming Frankfurt motor show this September.

It was fun to own a truck for a while, but fuel prices and a global recession eventually caught up to the recreational truck owner. Sales of the Ford F-Series came in at 413,000 units in 2009, while 2010 improved to 528,000. Combined that adds up to roughly the same amount of trucks Ford sold in ’05 alone. Does the precipitous drop in truck sales mean that high-dollar pickups of the past are on the outs? Not even close. The F-150 lineup now features Lariat, Platinum, King Ranch and particularly awesome Raptor variants, each with their own hefty price tag.

The third generation’s Volkswagen Beetle that was unwrapped today ahead of its world premiere at the 2011 Shanghai Auto Show and New York Auto Show. The newest interpretation of the Bug comes 73 years after the launch of the original Beetle in 1938, which sold an amazing 21.5 million units, and 13 years after the debut of the New Beetle in 1998 that managed to sell a little over 1 million units until production ended in 2010.

Renault has released the first Dacia limited edition version of its new small SUV model, called the Duster École de Ski Français (ESF). By the name which translates to French Skiing School. Priced at €18,990 ($26,900), the Duster ESF marks the extension of Renault Group’s 10-year partnership with the École de Ski Français.
