General Motors announced pricing information for the 2012 model year Chevrolet Volt, which is now available for order in all 50 states, this morning. The 2011 Volt was offered in just seven states and the District of Columbia. GM has dropped the base price for its extended range electric vehicle by a little over $1,000 to $39,995, which includes an $850 destination freight charge but excludes tax, title and license fees. 3,099 Cadillac SRX Crossovers vehicles are being recalled in Mexico and Canada, with GM stating that the problem is only in North America because an air-curtain air bag that may not deploy during a crash. The Detroit automaker said the car’s computer is programmed to turn off the right side roof-rail airbag if someone is not sitting in the front passenger seat thus not protecting the rear occupants in the event of a crash.

The new limited edition version 2011 BMW M3 Coupe Frozen Black Edition will be available in a limited production run of 20 units for the USA, each priced at a hefty $79,650 (~€55,500), not including a $875 destination charge.
